About the Author
Melissa A. Wong
A librarian by education and experience, I currently teach as an adjunct instructor in two library schools.
I worked as an academic librarian for fourteen years, including six years in various positions at the University of Southern California and eight years as Library Director at Marymount College Palos Verdes. I earned an M.S. in library science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where I also spent two years as a Graduate Assistant in the Main Reference Library.
I have been teaching in the LEEP distance education program in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at UIUC since 2001. I currently teach courses in reference, instruction and/or higher education, depending on the term. Since 2008, I have also taught reference in the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University.
